This topic provides definitions for the fields in a promoted listings feed. The promoted listings feed is used to create and maintain Promoted Listings Standard ad campaigns.

Item ID

Required. A unique eBay-assigned ID for a listing that is generated when the listing is created.

When provided, the Item ID will take precedence over other listing identifying fields such as SKU or Group ID. When using Item ID for a multi-variation (MSKU) listing, the specified ad rate percentage applies to all variations.

The product's Stock Keeping Unit. This must be unique across your entire inventory.

Note: For Multi-SKU listings, when SKU is provided and Group ID is not, the specified ad rate percentage is applied to the specified SKU/variation only.

CSV: Group ID

Required for multi-SKU. For a multi-variation listing, identifier for the group of variations/SKUs. When specifying a multi-SKU listing by Group ID.

When a group ID is specified for a multi-variation listing, the specified ad rate percentage applies to all variations. When a group ID is specified, you cannot set different ad rates for individual SKUs of the multi-SKU (multi-variation) listing.

Channel ID

Required. The unique identifier of the sales channel, such as EBAY_USEBAY_GB, or EBAY_IT, and others. See Marketplace enumerated values for full list.

CSV: Ad Rate %

Required. The user-defined ad rate sets the level that eBay increases the visibility in search results for the associated listing. The higher the ad rate, the more eBay promotes the listing.

The value specified here is also used to calculate the Promoted Listings fee. This percentage value is multiplied by the final sales price to determine the fee. The Promoted Listings fee is determined at the time the transaction completes and the seller is assessed the fee only when an item sells through a Promoted Listings Standard ad campaign.

Campaign Name

Optional. A seller-defined name for the campaign. This value must be unique for the seller.

You can use any alphanumeric characters in the name except the less than (“<“) and greater than (“>”) characters.

When adding listings, if the campaign name does not exist, a new campaign is created with the specified name. If no campaign name is specified, eBay will create and name a new campaign for the promoted listing.

Promoted Listing Action

Required. The action to take for the specified listing. If the listing is already being promoted (included in an ad campaign), the only valid actions are update or delete.
