A Product combined feed, is a CSV or XML file that you upload to MIP. It combines Product feed fields with Availability feed and Distribution feed fields. Optionally, a seller can also add compatible vehicle information in a Product combined feed when selling motor vehicle parts and accessories.

You can upload product combined feeds multiple times an hour, but only one feed can be processed at a time. Each feed is processed as queued on the server.

You can use a Product combined feed to upload new product information to MIP, and to change information about products already listed on the site.

Important! A Combined Product feed must always contain product information. Do not submit a Product combined feed with distribution and/or availability information only. This may erase all previously submitted product information.

Requirements

Product combined feeds must:

  • Contain all of the elements listed as required in the Product feed definitions table, Availability feed definitions table, and Distribution feed definitions table.
  • Identify each product with a unique SKU value.
  • Define items as individual products, or as product variations within a product group. Variations will vary by one or more aspects, such as color or size. In an XML file, the details of the product group must appear in the feed file before the details of each product variation that belongs to the product group.
  • Be sure to provide Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) values for all manufactured products that have these identifiers. GTIN types include UPC, EAN, ISBN, and MPN. MPN values must be paired with a Brand vaue to ensure uniqueness. For product groups within the feed file, GTIN values should be specified for each product variation in the product group.
  • Include at least one image file (photo) for each SKU.
  • If you are listing the same SKU(s) on multiple eBay marketplaces, and using XML filles, you can either create separate Combined product feed files, one for each eBay marketplace, or group them under the same product and product.distribution containers, localized for each eBay marketplace.

  • Contain quantity available for Ship To Home
  • For 'Buy online, pick up in store' and 'Click and Collect' inventory, the feed file must contain location-specific quantity at one or more physical store locations
  • Contain the eBay marketplace (through Channel ID field) where the product will be offered
  • Contain the item price
  • Include references to payment, shipping, and return business policies

If you will be providing location-specific quantity, the location(s) specified must be in the MIP system. Locations are defined through Location feeds

When you edit an image, store the new image in a new location and provide the new URL to MIP. Once MIP has uploaded an image from a specific URL, it cannot detect that the image at that URL has changed.

When using the Product and Product combined feeds, sellers can specify up to 45 item specific name/value pairs. If using a CSV file, the last Attribute Name/Attribute Value pairs in the file should be used to provide California Prop 65 information. California Prop 65 requires sellers to provide warnings about items they sell to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

How to create a combined feed

  1. Product combined feeds are uploaded on the Product feed page. Click Inventory Management > Product link.
  2. Open one of the following Combined product sample files and customize them for your products: product-combined.csv (single SKUs or product groups), product-combined-single-sku.xml (single SKUs), product-combined-multi-sku.xml (product groups), product-combined-compatibility.csv (single SKUs or product groups with parts compatibility), or product-combined-compatibility.xml (single SKUs with parts compatibility). See the field definitions in Product feed definitions, Availability feed definitions, and Distribution feed definitions.
  3. Save the file with an appropriate name.
  4. Upload the Combined product feed file to MIP UI or SFTP file server.
